We are sourcing an experienced Garment Technician to join the team and support across all areas of the business.
The Role I
As a Garment Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the technical accuracy, quality, and fit of garments from concept through to production. You'll define and maintain product specifications, develop new garment specs aligned to market needs, and ensure every design is feasible, safe, and commercially right.
This is a hands-on, detail-driven position suited to a confident garment tech who thrives in high volume seasonal calendars and enjoys working closely with design, sales, and quality teams. Experience in infantwear is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities include:
Defining, maintaining, and upholding all garment specifications and measurement standards.
Developing new specs in line with customer needs, sales data, and market trends.
Providing technical and quality support to Sales and Design, ensuring creative intent translates into practical execution (including review of sized artwork).
Managing the critical path across sampling stages, tracking progress and ensuring key deadlines are met.
Communicating QA comments and updated specifications clearly to all stakeholders in line with critical timelines.
Owning product labelling requirements, with sound knowledge of testing, QA protocols, safety compliance, and sustainability practices.
Leading fit sessions and providing expert guidance on fit adjustments to achieve the best commercial outcome.
Maintaining accurate technical documentation and data within the central filing system.
Building strong working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
Supporting additional tasks as required across the technical and production workflow.
The Skillset I
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Garment Technician / Technical role.
Proven background in a fast-paced, high-volume apparel environment.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and safety requirements, infantwear experience highly regarded.
Ability to manage multiple projects, categories, and deadlines simultaneously.
Exceptional organisational skills with strong time management and problem-solving capability.
Clear, confident communicator with a collaborative working style.
Proficiency in MS Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
Detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and able to juggle shifting priorities.
