We are sourcing an experienced designer to join the infant and ladies categories. 
 
The Role I

The infant and ladies Sleepwear Licensed Apparel Designer position sits within the apparel team and is responsible for developing seasonal licensed ranges across women's and baby sleepwear categories. Working closely with the Account Manager and wider design function, you'll drive product from concept through to production, creating ranges that feel fresh, brand-right, and commercially strong while meeting licensor and retailer requirements.

It's a fantastic opportunity for a graphic-design-led fashion designer who loves print, character storytelling, and building cohesive sleepwear collections in a fast-moving, high-output environment where your work lands in market at real scale.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing end-to-end licensed ladies and baby sleepwear ranges across key categories.

  • Researching trends, silhouettes, fabrics and colour palettes to shape seasonal direction and mood boards.

  • Creating product storyboards and CADs in Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Developing yardage, placement prints and graphics aligned to licensor style guides.

  • Designing within brand guidelines while still pushing creative, commercial sleepwear outcomes.

  • Ensuring all baby/children's sleepwear designs comply with Australian mandatory nightwear safety requirements, including flammability performance and fire-hazard labelling.

  • Selecting fabrications, trims, and design details with category safety standards front of mind, and partnering with production/tech to support required testing and correct label classification.

  • Collaborating with production assistants and garment technicians to execute designs through sampling and bulk.

  • Managing multiple ranges, drops and deadlines within a tight seasonal calendar.

The Skillset I

  • Proven experience as a fashion designer with a strong graphic / print-led design approach.

  • Prior experience designing licensed apparel, ideally within sleepwear and/or baby product.

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or Graphic Design.

  • Strong trend research capability and ability to translate trends into commercial sleepwear ranges.

  • Confident working within licensor guidelines and retailer expectations.

  • Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrications and print techniques (especially relevant to sleepwear and baby categories).

  • Working knowledge of children's nightwear safety standards and comfort designing within compliance frameworks. 

  • Highly organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Positive, proactive and collaborative working style.
