Warehouse Manager
Premium Specialty Retailer
Now Hiring in Melbourne
The Brand |
An established Australian specialty retailer operating within the premium consumer goods space, representing a highly curated portfolio of internationally recognised brands.
With a strong omnichannel presence spanning bricks-and-mortar retail and eCommerce, the business has built a loyal customer following through deep product expertise, premium service and an uncompromising approach to quality.
As the business continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Manager to take ownership of its Melbourne warehouse operation and play an important role in building the infrastructure, processes and team capability required for its next stage of growth.
The Role |
This is a genuinely hands-on leadership role for someone who likes being on the warehouse floor, close to their team and involved in the day-to-day operation.
You will take ownership of the warehouse across inbound, inventory, picking, packing and dispatch, supporting fulfilment across both the retail network and eCommerce channel. Just as importantly, you will be tasked with looking at how the operation can work smarter, improving systems, introducing greater automation and scanning capability, strengthening inventory controls and creating scalable processes as volumes continue to grow.
Day-to-day, you will:
Lead, roster, train and develop the warehouse team, creating clear accountability and building capability as the operation grows
Own the end-to-end movement of stock from receiving and put-away through to picking, packing and dispatch
Manage a busy, multi-channel fulfilment environment supporting both eCommerce and physical retail
Maintain exceptional inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stocktakes and reconciliation
Take ownership of a diverse inventory mix spanning smaller individual products through to larger palletised stock
Review warehouse layout, workflows and processes to improve productivity and efficiency
Drive continuous improvement across warehouse systems and ways of working
Support the introduction and embedding of RF/barcode scanning technology
Maintain tight controls around high-value inventory
Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions as the operation scales
Own warehouse safety, compliance and safe systems of work
Work autonomously while remaining closely connected to the wider business and its growth objectives
The Skillset I
We are looking for an experienced warehouse professional who combines strong operational discipline with an sleeves-rolled-up leadership style.
You won't be someone who wants to manage the operation from behind a desk. You'll enjoy being visible on the floor, understanding where improvements can be made and bringing your team along for the journey.
Ideally, you will bring:
5+ years' experience across warehouse, distribution or logistics operations
Previous responsibility for leading, training and developing warehouse teams
Strong experience within a retail, eCommerce, consumer goods or similarly fast-moving distribution environment
Demonstrated success maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy
Experience working across both traditional and RF/barcode scanning environments
Strong knowledge of WMS platforms and warehouse process optimisation
Previous exposure to systems implementation, warehouse transformation or operational change highly regarded
Experience managing high-value inventory advantageous
Strong knowledge of warehouse WHS requirements and safe operating practices
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
The confidence to work autonomously and take genuine ownership of the operation
A current LF forklift licence
Above all, you'll be a practical operator and people leader who can bring structure to a growing environment without overcomplicating it, someone excited by the opportunity to improve what already exists, introduce smarter ways of working and build a warehouse operation capable of supporting the next chapter of the business.
