The Role |
We are seeking an accomplished and commercially driven Senior State Manager to lead the New South Wales retail portfolio.
Reporting into the executive leadership team, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping the performance, culture, and future growth of one of the business's largest retail markets. Leading a team of Area Leaders, Cluster Managers, and Store Managers, you will drive commercial success while creating an environment where exceptional leadership, customer experience, and team development thrive.
This role is about much more than delivering sales. You'll influence strategy, develop future leaders, and partner closely with Head Office to ensure every store consistently delivers an elevated customer experience while achieving outstanding commercial results.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and inspiring a high-performing network of Area Leaders, Cluster Managers, Store Managers, and retail teams across New South Wales
Driving state-wide sales performance, profitability, and operational excellence
Developing leadership capability through coaching, succession planning, and performance management
Identifying commercial opportunities through detailed analysis of business performance and market trends
Ensuring consistency across customer experience, visual presentation, operational standards, and brand execution
Leading business transformation, change initiatives, and continuous improvement projects
Partnering with senior leadership to influence strategic business decisions and future retail growth
Building a high-performance culture centred around accountability, collaboration, and people development
Championing talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning across the state

We're looking for an exceptional retail executive who combines commercial expertise with inspiring people leadership.
You will bring:
Extensive experience in a Senior State, Regional, or Multi-Site leadership role within fashion, lifestyle, or specialty retail
Demonstrated success leading large retail portfolios and developing high-performing leadership teams
Exceptional commercial acumen with experience driving sales growth, profitability, and productivity
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to influence business direction and execute large-scale initiatives
Outstanding coaching, mentoring, and leadership development capability
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at executive level
Experience leading change, transformation, and business growth initiatives
A customer-first mindset with a passion for building exceptional retail cultures
