The Brand

One of our favourite Australian Designer brands is renowned for their product offering that includes hand embellishment, and stunning modern designs across Evening Wear and RTW. Worn by iconic women globally, you can shop for this stunning brand across luxury department stores worldwide as well as in their expansive Australian boutiques. We are now hiring a Senior Garment Technician to join their Sydney Head Office.

The Role |

This role will be responsible for developing product in line with the design vision, core brand values and seasonal deadlines – working closely with the design, buying and production departments and supplier base. You will work closely with suppliers based in China and India to drive quality and the integrity of their garments.  

  • Responsible for the fit, construction of all garments at the highest quality standards.

  • Detailed and thorough tech packs for off shore manufacturers

  • Measure and control fit of garment approvals [Protos, salesman, pre-production and shipment samples]

  • Manage and organise garment fit sessions. Translate technical fit improvements and alterations to suppliers

  • Provide advice and support on fabrications, wash and garment finishes to both designers.

  • Maintain Critical Path

  • Participate in regular meetings with Design and Production team to discuss progress / issues

  • Developing and evolving company standards of garment construction, alternations, measuring, fitting and pattern blocks.

The Skillset |

  • Previous experience ideally with min 5 years of experience in a similar role for a high end or premium brand

  • Good knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, washing, finishing and pattern making process.

  • Meticulous attention to detail with an organized and methodical approach.

  • Qualification in technical design – or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of fitting, workmanship and manufacturing is also desired

  • Experience with beading, or embellishments highly regarded

  • Strong time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.

  • Intermediate MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
