Premium Fashion & Lifestyle Brand
Now Hiring in New Zealand

The Brand |

An established premium fashion and lifestyle retailer with a highly curated brand offering and a strong reputation for quality, customer experience and considered growth.

With a loyal customer base and an entrepreneurial leadership team, the business is entering its next phase of development and is looking to strengthen its finance function with the appointment of an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager.

This is an opportunity to join a close-knit business where finance plays a genuinely influential role in supporting day-to-day performance, future planning and sustainable growth.

The Role I

This is a hands-on, part-time Finance Manager opportunity suited to someone who enjoys balancing the detail of day-to-day finance with broader commercial thinking.

Working closely with the Directors, you will take ownership of the finance function across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, bookkeeping, compliance and financial governance.

You will provide clear, practical financial insight to support decision-making while ensuring the business maintains accurate reporting, strong controls and efficient financial processes.

Your remit will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting

  • Developing budgets, forecasts and cashflow projections

  • Monitoring performance against budget and identifying areas of opportunity or risk

  • Managing day-to-day cashflow and working capital

  • Overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Ensuring supplier payments and customer receipts are effectively managed

  • Partnering with leadership around pricing, margin, inventory investment and growth decisions

  • Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency

  • Completing bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Maintaining accurate general ledger and financial records

  • Overseeing payroll processes and associated compliance

  • Managing GST and statutory reporting requirements

  • Preparing year-end information for external accountants

  • Maintaining strong financial controls and governance processes

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant New Zealand financial and tax obligations

  • Reviewing and improving finance processes as the business evolves

  • Providing financial modelling and commercial analysis for new initiatives

  • Acting as a trusted financial partner to the Directors, translating numbers into clear, actionable recommendations

The Skillset |

  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant or similar

  • CA, CPA or equivalent qualification highly regarded

  • Strong financial accounting and bookkeeping capability

  • Demonstrated experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts

  • Strong cashflow and working capital management experience

  • Sound commercial judgement with the ability to influence business decisions

  • Experience partnering directly with founders, owners or senior leadership

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance and governance

  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills

  • Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms, ideally Xero

  • Excellent attention to detail and an organised, practical working style

  • The confidence to work autonomously and take ownership of the finance function

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to make financial information accessible to non-finance stakeholders

  • Experience within fashion, retail, lifestyle or another inventory-led consumer business would be particularly valuable.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for a flexible, part-time position where they can remain close to the numbers while also having a meaningful commercial voice within a growing premium retail business.
