The Role |
As the Merchandise Analyst you will play a pivotal analytical role delivering high-quality reporting, data aggregation, and analysis that underpin agile commercial planning in a dynamic fashion retail environment. Drawing on your
experience in merchandise analytics or retail reporting, you will transform complex product, sales, and inventory data into clear insights that support tactical range management and margin optimisation.
Your focus will be on maintaining impeccably accurate datasets, preparing timely reports and dashboards, and providing the Commercial Merchandise Planning Manager with actionable, objective analysis that drives revenue growth and operational efficiency.
You will rigorously measure key performance indicators, proactively highlight material trends and variances, and respond rapidly to ad hoc data requests, ensuring the business always has a robust analytic foundation for commercial decisions.
This role is central to enabling profit-focused, data-driven trading, requiring discipline, pace, and a commitment to analytic excellence, while maintaining clarity of function as a commercial support specialist rather than a strategic decisionmaker.
The Skillset I
5+ years' experience in merchandise or retail analytics, commercial analytics, or business intelligence (preferably in retail, fashion, or lifestyle sectors).
Demonstrated ability to turn customer and sales data into clear commercial recommendations.
Advanced Excel and reporting/dashboard skills; exposure to technology systems (eg Style Arcade, Power BI, Profit Peak, Triple Whale).
Highly analytical, commercially astute and customer-Critical and strategic thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent stakeholder communication; able to present complex findings succinctly and influence decisions.
Comfortable with change, ambiguity, and pace—energised by improvement and collaboration.Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with a disciplined, detail-oriented approach.
