The Talent Mill is partnering with an iconic Australian designer brand renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, elevated occasionwear and uncompromising quality. As the business continues to grow, an opportunity has become available for a Garment Technician to join their collaborative Product team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded professional looking to further develop their career within a premium fashion environment, working alongside an experienced design and product team to bring beautifully crafted collections to life.
The Role |
Working closely with Design, Product Development and Production, you'll support the technical development of seasonal collections from initial sample through to bulk production.
This is a hands-on role where you'll play an integral part in ensuring every garment delivers exceptional fit, construction and quality. You'll assist with fittings, maintain technical documentation, communicate with offshore suppliers and help ensure products are delivered on time and to the brand's exacting standards.
Assist with fit sessions across development and pre-production samples, ensuring garments align with the original design intent.
Measure and assess samples against specifications, identifying fit and construction improvements.
Prepare and update technical packs, specifications and technical CADs using Adobe Illustrator.
Communicate technical comments and fit amendments to offshore manufacturers.
Review pre-production samples and size sets to ensure consistency across grading and fit.
Support the review of trims, hardware and garment construction to maintain quality standards.
Maintain accurate sample tracking and technical documentation throughout the critical path.
Partner with Design, Product Development and Production to resolve technical challenges and improve product execution.
Assist with analysing customer feedback and returns to identify opportunities for ongoing fit and quality improvements.
Help uphold the brand's exceptional quality standards across every stage of the product development process.

You are passionate about garment construction and take pride in delivering beautifully fitting, high-quality product. Organised and detail-oriented, you enjoy collaborating with designers and suppliers and are eager to continue developing your technical expertise.
You'll bring:
Previous experience as a Garment Technician or Technical Assistant within a fashion brand.
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit and technical specifications.
Experience participating in fit sessions and communicating technical comments.
Knowledge of garment grading, fabrication, trims and construction methods.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and technical documentation.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.
A collaborative attitude, strong attention to detail and genuine passion for premium product.
