The Buyer role plays a critical part in shaping the future of the brand, ensuring each range reflects both creative vision and strong commercial performance.
The Role |
Reporting into the senior merchandise leadership team, this is a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded Buyer who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys working closely with design, planning, and production and well suited for someone with an eye for product with a numbers and trading skillset.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end buying process across assigned product categories.
Build and manage seasonal ranges aligned to brand, customer, and commercial strategy.
Develop buying plans informed by sales data, market trends, and customer insights.
Negotiate cost prices, delivery timelines, and minimums with offshore and local suppliers.
Work closely with Design and Production to ensure product execution aligns with range vision and margin targets.
Monitor trading performance, manage in-season rebuys, and action markdown strategies where required.
Analyse sell-through, stock intake, and margin performance to inform future buying decisions.
Collaborate with Planning to manage OTB, inventory levels, and forecast accuracy.
Maintain awareness of global fashion trends, competitor activity, and market shifts.
The Skillset |
Proven experience within fashion, apparel, or lifestyle retail at Buyer or Senior Buyer level.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance trend, customer, and profitability.
Demonstrated experience working with suppliers and negotiating costings.
High level of confidence analysing data and translating insights into buying decisions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with PLM or ERP systems highly regarded.
