Assistant Designer

Now Hiring | Luxury Women’s Apparel | Sydney

The Brand |

This Australian Contemporary Designer brand is on the rise globally from showcasing at Paris Fashion Week to the worlds coolest "it" girls with their pieces on high rotation and the most prominent shopping destinations with the brand in stock - you will know and love this brand. This is a significant time of growth with multiple incredible projects underway - we are now searching for an Assistant Designer to join their team based in Redfern Sydney, in 2026.

The Role |

This role is critically to support the Design Director and Senior Designer in the execution of seasonal collections. You will bring exceptional organisational skills and strong technical ability to the role. This role is critical in translating design vision into accurate assets and technical information — with a heavy focus on fast and precise CAD work, fabric and trim coordination, and fit support.

  • Create accurate CAD flats and updates at speed, maintaining consistency and high-quality presentation.

  • Assist in sketching, concept development and research aligned to seasonal direction.

  • Manage fabric, trim and colour boards; coordinate swatches and library updates.

  • Prepare tech packs and design handovers in partnership with PD and the Senior Designer.

  • Attend and support fittings — take detailed notes, update CADs and comment sheets.

  • Assist with runway look boards, digital line sheets and internal presentation materials.

  • Liaise with Product Development to track samples and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Maintain design files, folders and organisation across the design team.

  • Support showroom and campaign preparation when required.

The Skillset |

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical foundation, impeccable attention to detail, and a passion for the modern, architectural womenswear. Experience with high end womenswear is essential for this role.

  • 1-3 years' experience in a luxury or premium womenswear environment.

  • Advanced in Adobe Illustrator with demonstrable speed and accuracy in CAD execution.

  • Strong understanding of garment construction fundamentals.

  • Confident hand-sketching and ability to communicate ideas quickly

  • Detail-driven, with strong follow-through and time management.

  • Passion for fashion innovation, modern tailoring and elevated product.

  • Solutions-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced studio environment.
