Senior Merchandise Planner
Now Hiring | Leading Women’s Apparel | Sydney
The Brand |
This contemporary fashion label is known for its modern, minimalist aesthetic and strong focus on design-led pieces that bridge the gap between casual and occasion wear. Established by founders with a background in design, the brand has developed a reputation for elevated simplicity and refined tailoring that appeals to a style-conscious, youthful audience.
The Role |
The Senior Merchandise Planner plays a strategic role in driving the financial success of the business by developing, executing, and managing merchandise plans across all channels, including eCommerce, retail stores, and wholesale. They own the end-to-end planning process, creating pre-season financial plans that establish sales, margin, and inventory targets, and continuously reforecasting based on in-season performance and market trends.
Through close partnership with Merchandising, Buying, Allocation, and Supply Chain teams, the Senior Planner ensures that inventory levels are optimized to meet customer demand while minimizing markdowns and excess stock. They analyze performance at the category, product, and channel level, identifying risks and opportunities to maximize full-price sell-through and overall profitability.
This role also collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Marketing and Digital to forecast the impact of key campaigns, product launches, and promotions, ensuring inventory availability supports marketing initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Merchandise Planner develops and maintains analytical tools and reporting dashboards, delivering actionable insights and strategic recommendations to leadership that inform assortment decisions, inventory flow, and long-term business planning.
The Skillset |
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or related field.
4+ years of merchandise planning experience within fashion, apparel, or consumer goods; omnichannel experience strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and planning systems
Strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and clear recommendations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the agility to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
