Merchandise Planner

Established Apparel & Lifestyle Business
Now Hiring in Melbourne

The Brand |

An established Australian apparel and lifestyle business with a growing international footprint and a clear purpose at the heart of what it does.

Operating across a digital-first, multi-channel model, the brand has built a strong position within its category through considered product, innovation and a genuinely customer-led approach.

With an increasingly global customer base and product distributed across multiple regions and channels, the business is continuing to invest in its merchandise capability, creating an opportunity for an experienced planner to have meaningful influence across forecasting, inventory, trading and future range direction.

The Role |

This is a broad, commercially focused Merchandise Planner opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to both the numbers and the product.

Reporting into the Head of Merchandise & Trade, you’ll take ownership of data-driven planning, forecasting and inventory optimisation across global markets, ensuring the business has the right product, in the right quantities, across the right channels.

You’ll develop line-level forecasts across SKU, region and marketplace, manage buys and stock availability, and continually analyse performance to identify opportunities and mitigate risk. Weekly trade will be an important part of your rhythm, using sales, sell-through, returns and inventory data to influence markdowns, pricing, stock transfers and in,-season trading decisions.

Importantly, this isn’t a planning role operating in isolation. You’ll work closely with Product, Merchandising, eCommerce, Digital, Marketing, Production, Shipping and Finance, bringing a commercial lens to range architecture, new product launches, campaign activity and wider business decisions.

Your remit will include:

  • Owning forecasting and buy quantities across product, region and channel.

  • Driving weekly trade analysis and translating data into clear commercial actions.

  • Managing sell-through, markdowns, aged stock and inventory risk.

  • Optimising stock across global markets and supporting efficient stock flow.

  • Contributing to range architecture, assortment planning and new product forecasting.

  • Managing wholesale assortments, pricing and inventory availability.

  • Partnering with Product and Merchandising on in-season and post-season range reviews.

  • Providing Marketing and Digital teams with product insights to support campaigns and EDM activity.

  • Supporting key financial outcomes across revenue, gross profit and stock turn.

The Skillset |

We’re looking for an established Merchandise Planner who combines strong analytical capability with genuine product and commercial instinct.

You’ll ideally bring 6+ years’ merchandise planning experience within apparel or accessories, with exposure to eCommerce, omnichannel and multi-region planning particularly relevant.

You’ll be confident working with large volumes of data and advanced Excel, but equally comfortable stepping away from the spreadsheet to communicate what the numbers actually mean and influence decisions across the wider business.

Experience delivering against sales, margin, inventory and stock-turn objectives will be important, alongside strong forecasting, trading and inventory management capability. Exposure to planning systems and Cin7 would be advantageous rather than essential.

Above all, you’ll enjoy the pace and ownership that comes with a growing, data-rich and evolving business, highly organised, commercially curious and confident partnering with stakeholders across Product, Digital, Marketing and Finance.
