The Brand |
An iconic Australian fashion brand known for its modern, tailored designs – they have built a reputation for creating sophisticated, fashion-forward pieces that blend timeless style with contemporary trends. With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship, they continue to evolve while maintaining its heritage of empowering women through confident, polished style. We are searching for a Midweight Fashion Designer to join the team, reporting to the Creative Director.
All collections are designed in the Sydney studio and produced in considered quantities, with a focus on lasting pieces made from premium fabrics.
The Role |
Reporting to a visionary Creative Director – you will develop and design across categories, working within a wider design team.
Develop and deliver design sketches across categories, including knitwear and offshore production.
Support the delivery of seasonal collections in line with design direction and critical path.
Collaborate with pattern makers to refine and perfect garments for production.
Present designs in weekly meetings and implement feedback within required timeframes.
Analyse existing styles and identify opportunities to rework and re-fabricate.
Research and source trims, accessories, and fabrications.
Maintain awareness of global fashion trends and local market direction.
Review samples and assist in providing clear, detailed feedback.
Work with internal teams to resolve design and development challenges.
Assist in maintaining timelines to ensure adherence to the critical path.
The Skillset |
Strong design and sketching capability across multiple categories ideally with 2-3 years in a similar role.
Solid understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabrication.
Experience working with pattern makers and production teams.
Strong attention to detail and a commercial mindset.
Ability to interpret trends and translate them into brand-relevant designs.
Confident communicator with the ability to present ideas clearly.
