Deputy Head of Boutique
Prestigious Luxury Fashion House
Now Hiring in Sydney
The Brand |
Our client is one of the world's most iconic and prestigious luxury fashion houses, a brand that has shaped the global fashion landscape through extraordinary craftsmanship, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
While its heritage is unparalleled, this is a business that continues to evolve. At the heart of its retail philosophy is an incredibly considered approach to luxury, one centred on people, meaningful client relationships and creating experiences that extend far beyond the transaction.
Their Market Street, Sydney boutique represents a significant location for the business, with a strong focus on Ready-to-Wear, exclusive product and private clientele. The boutique comprises approximately 40 team members and services a diverse mix of local, domestic and international clients.
An exceptional opportunity now exists for an accomplished retail leader to join this business as Deputy Head of Boutique.
The Role |
Working alongside the Head of Boutique and fellow Deputy Heads of Boutique, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership of this significant luxury retail business, managing its people, client experience, commercial performance and day-to-day operations.
Highly strategic and people-focused, the position is not centred around individual selling. Instead, you will be responsible for creating the environment in which your team can deliver extraordinary experiences — coaching leaders, developing talent, understanding your most important clients and partnering on bespoke events and experiences.
You will have exposure to the full commercial operation of the boutique, while working closely with the Head of Boutique and wider Head Office teams across training, visual merchandising, product, marketing, communications, finance and operations.
In addition, you will:
Lead, inspire and develop a significant luxury retail team, creating a culture centred on collaboration, excellence and genuine care.
Spend meaningful time on the boutique floor observing, coaching and supporting team performance.
Partner with the Head of Boutique on performance management, development planning and succession across the team.
Build leadership capability through ongoing mentoring, coaching and considered feedback.
Champion a truly client-centric culture focused on engagement, loyalty and long-term relationship building.
Develop a deep understanding of the boutique's high-value and private clients, working with the team to create personalised strategies that encourage continued engagement.
Partner on elevated client experiences, private appointments, VIP events and broader client engagement initiatives.
Oversee the effective day-to-day operation of the boutique, including rostering, team deployment and operational standards.
Maintain impeccable standards across visual presentation, boutique environment, grooming and brand image.
Oversee merchandise and inventory integrity, partnering closely with Back of House and Product teams.
Provide insights around client behaviour, market trends, competitor activity and product performance.
Build strong partnerships across Head Office and specialist functions to deliver broader business objectives.
The Skillset |
We are looking for an exceptional retail leader who understands that the future of luxury is built through people, relationships and extraordinary experiences.
You may already be established within luxury retail, or you may be leading a significant business within premium fashion, beauty or Australian designer and be ready to transition into the world of global luxury.
You will bring:
Significant retail leadership experience within luxury, premium fashion, beauty or another elevated customer environment.
Proven success leading and developing large or complex retail teams.
Strong people leadership capability, including coaching, performance management and succession planning.
A genuine passion for creating exceptional client experiences and developing long-term relationships.
Commercial confidence and an understanding of how to manage a significant retail business.
Experience navigating complex people matters with empathy, maturity and sound judgement.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels.
Strong operational capability across rostering, inventory, merchandise and boutique standards.
An appreciation for fashion, craftsmanship, storytelling and the nuances of luxury service.
A collaborative leadership style, polished and credible, but equally warm, curious and people-focused.
While fashion, retail or luxury experience is advantageous, the formal position profile places particular emphasis on leadership capability, customer service mindset, communication, problem solving and experience managing teams.
The Offer |
This is a genuine career-defining opportunity to step into senior leadership within one of the world's most respected luxury businesses.
Annual bonus opportunity alongside an additional team incentive component.
Full uniform provided.
Access to exclusive staff sales and product benefits.
Beauty allowance and benefits.
Additional wellness days and birthday leave.
A roster designed around alternating full weekends on and off.
Exceptional access to learning and development, including dedicated boutique-based training support.
Exposure to private client experiences, eventing and some of the most sophisticated client engagement strategies in global luxury.
Genuine pathways into future Boutique Director, Learning & Development, Private Client, Customer Experience and Head Office opportunities.
