This ecommerce fashion success story is searching for an experienced Garment Tehcnician to join their Marrickville based team. Designed for the women who loves fashion and knows that trend is driven through social media, this brand is designed inhouse and takes inspiration from the latest runway trends and street styles globally. With three in-house brands that are stocked by Wholesale accounts, independents and eCommerce majors across Australia and the US.
The Role |
We are looking for a Garment Technician to join an established design team and work alongside another Garment Technician - This role is a great opportunity for someone with technical expertise to work in collaboration with the senior design and production team.
This role is critical to creating quality garments and a seamless process for a team to work together to achieve a high level of efficiency and contribution to the success of the business.
This role will be responsible for developing product in line with the design vision, core brand values and seasonal deadlines – working closely with the design, buying and production departments and supplier base.
Responsible for the fit, construction of all garments at the highest quality standards.
Detailed and thorough tech packs for off shore manufacturers
Measure and control fit of garment approvals [Protos, salesman, pre-production and shipment samples]
Manage and organise garment fit sessions. Translate technical fit improvements and alterations to suppliers
Provide advice and support on fabrications, wash and garment finishes to both designers.
Maintain Critical Path
Participate in regular meetings with Design and Production team to discuss progress / issues
Developing and evolving company standards of garment construction, alternations, measuring, fitting and pattern blocks.
Working with design and production for each seasonal collection ensuring capable and high-quality execution from start to finish.
Ensuring all SMS are highest quality prior to sales campaign
Working closely with offshore suppliers. E.g. China
Organisational, time management, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Excel and Adobe Illustrator
The Skillset |
Existing technical design experience within a fashion brand
Advanced Adobe Suite skillset
Strong quality & technical background and sound understanding of garment construction and grading
Strong fitting and problem-solving skills
3-5 years' minimum experience in a technical role
High attention to detail & consistency
Strong time management and ability to follow processes
